Does Motorfleet charge clients any fees ?
No – we don’t charge our clients any fees at all on new cars.
So, how does Motorfleet make money ?
We, like all other finance providers receive a commission on the finance aspect of any business, and we also negotiate with dealer groups for an introductory commission on any vehicles purchased by our clients through us.
So, wouldn’t I be better off just going straight to the dealer and cutting Motorfleet out of my deal ?
There is a 3 part response to this :-
1. Any income we receive from the dealers for purchasing vehicles for clients is far outweighed by the big discounts we routinely achieve for our clients. Because we know the dealer system well, and the way the fleet bonuses and incentives work (and the dealers know that we know lol) – they don’t give us the level of ahem, BS that they often get away with when dealing direct with buyers.
2. Most of our clients come to us because they do not wish to deal with dealers – finding them high pressure and only interested in shifting their own product, and even pushing hard just the vehicles that they currently have in stock.(often old models, or old stock) Their objective is to keep you there on the premises until you sign up.
3. If a customer gets into the dealer “system” and is negotiating a price on a new car, the salesman almost always insists on introducing them to the finance manager (the salesman is incentivised to do this) This opens the door for the business manager to help close the deal for the salesman. All pressure on the client….
How does the Motorfleet process work for clients ?
We usually have an initial chat over the phone to determine the clients needs / wants. We then go and look into what solutions we can offer to deal with the clients wants / needs and provide detailed itemised quotations. We can of course requote if anything has changed in terms of the clients requirements in the meantime.
Why doesn’t Motorfleet advertise ?
We don’t advertise as we wish to remain good value for our clients and with such a wide range of services on offer from us, it would be difficult to convey a universal message that’s relevant to a large number of clients.
Why would we finance our vehicles through Motorfleet anyway ? and not simply just go to our bank ?
The banks have very limited vehicle finance options available, adopting a one size fits all approach in the main – straight hire purchase usually. We too have facilities available with all the big banks at great rates if that’s the option a client wishes to take.
Why would we not just finance new vehicles via our mortgage ?
Everyone is different, but generally it’s accepted that mortgage finance for vehicles is in the long run, more expensive and in any case it’s often better to keep vehicles separate from your property.
What’s the general benefit for clients dealing through Motorfleet ?
As you have one point of contact with us, we can provide everything you need without you spending your valuable time on details with various suppliers. Consider how much your time is worth !
How about tinting / paint protection etc ?
We have nationwide agreements which enable us to offer quality aftermarket products to clients at prices far lower than dealers like to charge.
Can Motorfleet organise accessories ?
Absolutely we can – either dealer supplied or via outside suppliers.
Can Motorfleet provide tray conversions, storage systems etc ?
Absolutely – we work with trusted specialists in this sector to make sure you get what you need.
Are you not just Novated Lease specialists though ?
Whilst yes, we are specialists in Novated Leasing, we also routinely offer every other form of vehicle finance available, which have concepts that are easier to convey, whereas with Novated, it’s not a 30 second explanation of how it works – so we like to market ourselves as being able to offer even the more complex alternatives as well as the usual options.
What’s the benefit of Motorfleet offering all vehicle brands ?
The benefits are that we can offer truly impartial advice on choice of vehicle, and identify for clients where the good deals are, new model launches, outgoing model bonuses etc. The added benefit is that as we are truly independent, so we can tell the truth to clients…….
Can Motorfleet take Tradeins ?
Yes we can – what we need is full details on the car, together with some good pictures so that we can market your vehicle effectively to interested parties.
Do Motorfleet supply used cars ?
This is a grey area. Usually, no, but for some specialist vehicles, or clients who know exactly what they want, we can help yes. However, we do charge a FULLY REFUNDABLE fee for this service because of the way the used car market is structured.
If I source my own car, can Motorfleet finance it for me ?
Yes indeed we can, but we would urge such clients to also let us quote the vehicle / vehicles on a like for like basis too, as it is, after all, what we do – and we can often save clients money.
How many finance sources does Motorfleet have ?
We can offer finance via over 40 finance companies – including 3 different Novated Lease providers.
Can Motorfleet organise test drives on new cars ?
Yes we can – simply let us know where you are located and what you’d like to drive, and we will organise it through our suppliers. However, its most important that we make the initial contact with the dealer on your behalf, otherwise they will view you as “their”client and we would be unable to deal through them for you. So, let us do the legwork !
Can Motorfleet offer help in selling our existing vehicle privately ?
Yes – we even have a full guide that we can email you to help with this process to help you to get a satisfactory outcome.
If I opt for Novated Lease, I don’t end up owning the car, right ?
You DO end up owning the car yes, once all the payments have been made. It’s strange that it’s actually called a lease at all – happy to explain this fully to interested parties.
Does Motorfleet offer finance on other assets too ?
Yes we do ! – Commercial vehicles, Boats, Commercial Equipment, Agricultural Equipment, Motorcycles, Diggers etc – the list is endless !
